It’s 6AM and I roll off my latest air mattress in a dark basement. I couldn’t tell you what city I’m in. I wash my face and begin my day. A beautiful thing about life that I’ve noticed is that it seems no matter where you go in Canada, when provided with cereal by any […]

Team One checking in. We have been in BC and loving it. The schools have been amazing and each of our billets have been great. One host family even took the whole team out whale watching in Ucluelet. (I must admit the team agreed they have never been more cold!). We went out in this […]

RE: Think Day Presentation
I would like to thank the performers, the writers, the sponsors and the logistical folks for their contribution to the Think Day presentation. Our school had the benefit of the presentation on the afternoon of September 24. The troupe who came to our school was very professional, effective and efficient. The performance surpassed my expectations and clearly is worthy of the support from your sponsors. Sponsors can be proud to have their name associated with this quality of presentation.
Students were impacted with the message and after consulting with students understood the role they could play in assisting those less fortunate. They were also made aware of the outstanding opportunities to become involved in the Hero Holiday program when they complete their education programs.
I look forward to using the wrap around resources in our school to support the global needs to develop a compassionate and supportive community for our own citizens and those in other countries.
Thank you to your organization for the opportunity. Well done.
Sincerely,
Garnet Goertzen, Principal

Congratulations!!!
I just witnessed a truly amazing assembly this morning. As a teacher at a high school, sometimes students can be disruptive and rude during assemblies and today that was not the case at our school. I was proud to teach at our school and be wowed by the silence at the correct times and the hype […]

A stranger is a person that you see on the street, on the bus or in a coffee shop. Unfortunately you don’t get the chance to really get to know them, and its easy to just overlook a person and judge them for who and what you think they might be. Though these strangers look […]

Doing something that is designed to inspire or teach has a funny way of returning the favour.
As we are getting closer to the summer, the number of performances we have left start to look smaller every day. Looking back to the start of the four months and hundreds of events that were scheduled, I remember feeling […]
